September 19th– Parenting with the Brain InMind (Josh MacNeill)
This session will introduce the basics of brain development, and what to expect during different seasons of development. Additionally, we will discuss strategies for identifying and supporting lower brain regions that may need more development.
October 17th–The Impact of Stress on Children, and How to Help (Josh MacNeill)
This session will explore the important role stress plays on the brain, and how too much stress can lead to behaviors of concerns. Additionally, we will explore practical approaches to help build a child’s tolerance for future stress.
November 21st– Reframing Defiant Behaviors (Alexandra Murtaugh)
The term defiance often implies an intentional act by someone. This session will explore how defiant behaviors that often feel intentional, may actually be a stress-induced response to a situation. Additionally, we will explore strategies for reframing and responding to such behaviors.
January 16th–Supporting Positive Brain Change at home (Josh MacNeill)
One of the greatest attributes of our brain, is the fact that it can change for the better throughout life. This session will discuss key elements of creating a home environment that promotes positive brain growth and development.
February 20th– Bridging the Gap Between School and Home (Josh MacNeill)
As a parent, you have the opportunity to be an advocate for your child. This session will explore how to foster a healthy connection with your child’s school, and share ideas for how to advocate for your child in a way that is likely to result in more supports for your child.
April 16th– Preparing for the Summer Break and Beyond (Josh MacNeill)
This session will explore some of the predictable stressors that summer break can bring to children of all ages and share some strategies that can help keep your home calm through the summer and beyond.
